As one of San Antonio’s first major healthcare entities, Methodist Healthcare Systems (MHS) was entering a saturated market for injury treatment. Despite the convenience of UrgentCare facilities, not all are equipped to treat every type of injury or illness. Methodist Healthcare’s ER systems are fully equipped to treat any of life’s emergencies. With the upcoming Fiesta season, MHS wanted to promote their ER services to all of San Antonio.
esd was tapped to design and launch a new iOS app to promote Methodist Healthcare’s ER services. The new MHSER app would not only show users the closest MHS ER location to them, but would also report accurate wait times for all facilities. esd launched a full digital and print marketing campaign to promote the app’s launch, including media ad placement, pay-per-click advertising, a customized landing page and social media ad placement. At the conclusion of the Fiesta celebrations, MHS had attracted more than 5,000 unique visitors to the landing page, with over 3,000 of those visits reached through PPC and social media advertising. Total app downloads during that time period reached over 1,000 and more than 300 entries were made in the social media contest.
