Community First Health Plans (CFHP) was featured in local newspaper the La Prensa for their recent success in the “100% Campaign” for their partnership with San Antonio ISD. The campaign is a community partnership to link every uninsured child with affordable health coverage throughout schools in Texas.
CFHP was established in 1995 by the University Health System, specifically to provide health care coverage to the citizens of Bexar and the surrounding counties. As the only locally owned and managed, non-profit health plan in the area, CFHP’s commitment to their members is to provide great health care benefits backed by outstanding service, delivered by people who live right here in South Texas.


Throughout 2011 to 2012, 7,298 students were uninsured. Based on the number of uninsured students at the beginning of the project (10,337) compared to the end of the project (7,298), approximately 3,039 students were enrolled.
