Early Sunday morning, four members of the esd and associates team sprinted across the finish line of the 2012 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in downtown San Antonio.
After months of careful training, esd’s Missy Schultze, Ping-Jung ‘Judy’ Tsai and Erik Simpson competed in this year’s Half Marathon. Jennie Simison, an esd Graphic Design team member, competed in the Half Marathon Relay in a team of two with her husband Rob.

“It was great to cross the finish line and know that I had done the best that I ever dreamed of,” said Tsai, Vice President of Web Development.
Finishing with a time of 2:14, Schultze, an esd Public Relations team member, exceeded her goal time of 2:20.
“All of the training I did leading up to the marathon made it all worth it to cross the finish line and know that I had achieved my goal time. It made the medal I received much more special,” Schultze said.
Simpson, esd’s Creative Director, ran along side his 12-year-old daughter Sera, who took 6th place in her age division.
“Marathons are always great, but this one was special because I was able to share it with my daughter. I am proud of her for not just competing but for placing in her age division,” said Simpson.
A Gold-Level status recipient of the SABGH’s 2012 Healthy Workplace Recognition Program, esd and associates has continued to be a healthy and fit working environment. The Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon is just one example of that.
“Running alongside star athletes is huge. Running alongside esd and associates team members is even bigger. It just further justifies our efforts to remain a healthy workplace,” Simpson said.
