Helpful Marketing Tips for Your Small Business

As more and more small businesses are starting up, the need for effective marketing strategies also increase. From social media to commercials, there are numerous ways to market yourself to the public and receive great customer feedback. Within this article, I will show you a few tips to assist you in your future marketing endeavors.

Social Media Engagement

Engaging with your audience in general is a great way to build credibility and trust in the long run. However in this new day in age, social media engagement is the most simple yet effective way to do this. Not only will you receive direct consumer feedback, but you will portray yourself as more human and trustworthy. Traditional marketing gets a bad name for its more conservative approach to marketing to a general audience.  While you do want to have a level of professionalism when engaging  with customers, it is wise to respond in a voice specific to the targeted audience. The next time you receive a comment under a post, take time to respond to them. This singular action can go a long way.

Create a Memorable Slogan

Although common practice, creating a memorable slogan for your business is a highly effective way to market yourself to the public. More often than not, the simple yet catchy slogans have proven to be the most effective to the media, as they can be quite hard to forget. We work with an electrical residential service company, Mister Sparky, whose  slogan is, “We’re On Time, You’ll See, Or The Repair is Free”. Here we can already get an idea about the company’s values in honest and timely work. Furthermore, the rhyming and short nature of the slogan makes it very effective and hard to forget.

Prioritize the Product

Of course marketing yourself is a key process to a successful business, however, it will mean nothing if the actual product doesn’t match what you are advertising. For example, if your company markets itself as a timely and honest business, being late to a job site will hurt your credibility. Whatever aspect of your business you decide to market, you have to make sure you follow what you say. At the end of the day, your product will sell itself.
