Holiday marketing is nothing new, and for many companies it provides an opportunity to have fun and get creative. There are tons of Easter marketing trends you can hop in on, but here are a couple of our all time favorites to inspire you:

  1. Carlsberg Chocolate Bar: Back in 2016 Carlsberg, a leading brewery, capitalized on the Easter holiday by creating a fully functioning bar made entirely of chocolate. The bar unwrapped in London and eligible guests could walk right up and receive a free pint of beer served in a bespoke Carlsberg-engraved milk chocolate glass.

Carlsberg knew through data analytics that Easter is a big beer-drinking time for their consumers, and that the British public specifically loved the combination of beer and chocolate. Therefore, this event was a huge success.

  1. PETA Chicks: While this was upsetting to watch, PETA’s 2014 commercial highlighting the death’s of baby male chickens made an impact on everyone. It certainly caused an emotional response from the audience and cultivated awareness about the situation. It was the talk of the town, which from a marketing standpoint means success.

  1. Deliveroo: In 2019 everyone was obsessed with a TV series called Game of Thrones. So when the British online food delivery company began its Easter marketing campaign strategy, they decided to celebrate the release of the final season with a recreation of a dragon egg featured in the first season of the show.

This was a great success, because they stayed up-to-date with trends, and executed their launch accordingly. Had they timed this incorrectly, or created the dragon eggs incorrectly, the event could have been a disaster. But, they did their research and it was a great success.

The key takeaway here is that each highlighted company knew their target audience, and did their research. They engaged their consumers and made them feel something.
