As technology advances, so must the world of digital marketing. We saw this first with the release of Apple’s iOS 14 when the ability to track and measure online advertising performance became more difficult due to the included option to turn off tracking. And now, we are seeing it again with the release of the iOS 15 which will allow users to block their IP address, turn off pixel tracking, and hide email open and click through rates.

As analysts, we have to make a change. If we don’t we will no longer be working with accurate data, and that could cost us. So what can we do? Well, we as digital marketing professionals have come up with a couple of options:

  • Text Messaging: According to Hubspot, 3.8 Billion people have a cellphone, and 48 million of them have opted to receive text messages from businesses. This is great news for us as marketers, because the open rate for text messages is almost 100%.
  • Analytics Software: Google or Hubspot Analytics software for example are both great ways to tell how much traffic came to your website from a specific piece of content.
  • Zero-Party Data: Focusing on developing a relationship of real value with your consumers here is key. We want to get consumers to a place where they want to give you information, so much so that they want to opt in to your content.

Privacy is becoming more important to people, but that doesn’t have to be a negative thing. With the right tools and the right team, you can take your business to the next level and grow your customer base.
